Red Wine Cake

Fluffy, juicy and deliciously chocolaty at the same time – including a good shot of red wine, of course: That’s how the perfect red wine cake should be. And with a small pinch of gingerbread spice, it fits wonderfully into the pre-Christmas Advent season. Enjoy a cup of mulled wine with it and have a good time during this extraordinary time!

Red Wine Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 133 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pck. vanilla sugar
  • 133 ml oil neutral in taste e.g. sunflower or rapeseed oil
  • 133 ml red wine
  • 133 g flour
  • 33 g starch
  • 33 g cocoa powder
  • 1 pck. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. gingerbread spice
  • 100 g chocolate drops

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 170 °C top/bottom heat. Line a loaf pan (30×12 cm) with baking paper.
  • Beat eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla sugar with a mixer until white-fluffy, about 5 minutes. Turn to lowest speed and stir in the oil and wine.
  • Mix the dry ingredients and stir briskly into the egg mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 45-50 minutes. Do not forget to test the cake!
